About The Event
Palm Sunday commemorates Christ’s triumphal entry into Jerusalem, when He was welcomed by crowds waving palm branches and proclaiming Him King. In the service, this event is not just remembered but spiritually experienced as the Church enters Holy Week.
The palms symbolize victory, honor, and peace. They represent Christ’s victory over sin and death through His upcoming Passion and Resurrection. The faithful hold palms as a sign of welcoming Christ into their own hearts and lives. The procession during the service echoes the joy of Jerusalem while also foreshadowing the sacrifice that follows.
Hymns and scripture readings emphasize both kingship and humility. Christ is revealed as the Messiah who comes not in earthly power but in love and self-offering. Palm Sunday therefore stands at a powerful turning point. It begins the journey toward the Cross while already pointing to the hope of the Resurrection.
