OPERATION CLASSROOM PROJECT

Operation Classroom is an ongoing project that our National and Metropolis Philoptochos Societies encourage all chapters to do if they can. Its mission is to offer support to students and teachers of schools that have underfunded or underserved populations.
 
Our chapter is helping two Title 1 schools in Vista this year: Foothill Elementary and Rancho Minerva Middle Schools. Both schools serve a high percentage of families whose incomes are below the poverty line, who are homeless, and/or who have foster children.
 
We are currently conducting a collection drive of new shoes and jackets/windbreakers for students at Rancho Minerva Middle School. We have a list of sizes that specific children at the school need.  If you would like to donate, there are several ways you may do so:
 

• Please check the list on the Philoptochos table in the C. G. Pappas Hall and mark what item(s) you would like to donate OR

• Contact Connie Fellios (illinichio@gmail.com; 760-723-9277) and she will e-mail you the list so that you can select what item(s) you would like to purchase.

•  If you prefer to donate funds for the purchase of items, you may do so by donating online, writing a check, and donating cash.  

  • To donate online please use the donate button above and select "Operation Classroom" from the drop down menu.

  • Checks should be made payable to St. Helen Philoptochos, with “Operation Classroom” written in the memo line. Please either give the check to a Philoptochos board member or mail it to the church, with "Attention: Philoptochos" written on the envelope.

    Cash donations are accepted at the Philoptochos table in Pappas Hall after church.  Write a check or donate online.
